  1. so basically they are more likely to grow out sideways from the green and after substantial time the branches will be big enough to grow up? I have a rockery style garden and lots of bushes that have previously been heavily shaped, if left too long is it generally ok to prune back to wood for it to regrow & whens the best time to do this?
  2. Sounds a silly question. We have evergreen trees cut as a hedge, its not a leylandi but similar, will post a pic if i can. i would prefer it a foot or two taller, if the top of the main trunks are cut will they ever grow up further?
