  1. Rubber tip appears to be missing/rotted away, could be the problem then! Fuel was drained and renewed before I started tinkering
  2. On a Templar Tracer Quad Tractor. Engine was a non-starter with many issues, the seat switch did not work, hence no sparks, by-passed that switch and now have spark. Now the carb was gushing fuel out when the ignition was turned on, stripped down carb and cleaned out. Needle and main jets clogged up. Re-assembled, now I have no fuel gushing out, but still not firing unless its given a dose of Eze-start. This has led me to suspect the fuel shut-off solenoid. But not understanding how these function, I cannot determine whether or not it is the problem. Is there anyway of checking the solenoid to see if it works? Do they jam or stick or anything?
  3. Yet obviously not that proficient themselves!
  4. Has anyone ever been strangled by a chinstrap? Ever? Never heard of it!
  5. Just undo the chinstrap on the ground. If its undone it is no longer serving as a chinstrap, if its a real issue, tuck it up inside the webbing out of the way.
  6. Liking the sound of this, someone must be able to get a pic or 2
  7. D'oh! Was thinking Moth and fingers typed the wrong letters
  8. Hornet moth Sesia apiformis
  9. Thanks Tony, I looked it up after Gerrit mentioned it, and is my assumption now:thumbup1: Given the poor pics provided, the parasitic nature and the issues with this fungi, how aggressive is it? The tree is in a tricky spot, but not in a position that will endanger life or property. Just need an rough idea so I can maybe warn client and have give it a wider berth with fencing if necessary.
  10. In the top pic the brackets appear almost black, though it could be rusty in places. sorry not very good on the fungi:blushing: Just looked at the P. and it looks nearer to that, though blacker than shown pics. Thanks fpr the pointer in the right direction
  11. Ok, bit of help needed here. Found around base of 2foot dia Ash, along exposed roots along a brick-lined lake, significant lean on the tree, quite advanced fungal brackets Gano what, and reading the directory I'm thinking serious de-lignification? No brackets visible above ground level.
  12. gave mine a hammering yesterday dragging chipping and logging, good and comfy so far:thumbup1:
  13. I inherited a 61, good robust solid saw, reliable, maybe a bit on the heavy side, but a godd basic all-round mid-range saw. Welcome to the site
  14. Yes, be honest and upfront with the client, I under-estimated a large oak a couple of weeks ago, by about half a day for 3 men, think I had a Ginger day when I quoted! They were happy with the progress, and were happy to make up the difference. Doesnt happen a lot, but boy when it does you dont half kick yourself around the yard.
  15. And does she?
  16. pre-order clicked
  17. Full circle then Tony, back to the old ways, perhaps the old guys did know best after all
  18. I would keep it clean and simple, tell them what they need to know in the 1st instance Name, address, contact details, dont clutter it with a load of info that they get on the phone. Have a nice pic of something tree related in there, but maintain "white" space. Set up a website for all the extra info you wish to portray, for your clients perusal, pics, descriptions of jobs and so on.
  19. How many of us overload re-directs like that? Can happen so easy and so quickly when it does. ATB to your mate
  20. Why not reply in the comment section on the page? Put your POV across politely and eloquently. Educate them as to what the term "coppicing" means.
  21. I bet you wish you did, coz we're all so laid back life would be one big party
  22. Easy day here, just finished. Snipping and pruning around an old ladies house (was gonna say garden, yeeeuw!!) handtools only so relaxed and plenty of cold drinks. Its hotter here at home now, chillin under a gazebo
