  1. May as well plough it in, that lovely split timber has to be worth more per ton
  2. Nice one Liam, escaped the bTS fold and going to NZ, way uber cool
  3. You BTS guys have far too much spare time
  4. Go on, give her some "wood" Happy Anniversary
  5. I could be tempted with a free sample
  6. Got my wife one of these last year, in a small, and she says its very waterproof. Equisafety Lightweight Aspey Jacket | - Weatherbeeta Catalogue
  7. No personal experience of the Stihl, but no doubt in my mind that when I look for a new saw in that range it will be the Husky. My mate has one and it really is the bizz
  8. I currently wear the Oregon Waipoua (sp?) at the moment, and I am surprised by their quality, comfort, toughness atc a vast improvement on the Fiordlands (which disintegrated on contact with fresh air!!). I still am a Stretch-Air fan though.
  9. I detected Mr Waughs dulcet tone, and a bit of lazy Fen-boy drawl from Gay-vin. Nice to see the 'Thing of Beauty" in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing, who was that?
  10. When I was clearing out my dads house, I found a badger in the freezer! I think a Monitor lizard is cooler tho:thumbup1:
  11. Gutted for you. Personally I dont think dogs should be running around the workplace, but I know many who think differently and take dogs along.
  12. Those Ceggas are uber-cool, creme de la creme.
  13. Yes I forgot to increase the fronts pressures!
  14. maybe a hint of truth in that!
  15. I think he's still out there, searching through the brambles for it:001_rolleyes:
  16. Awaiting pics of this "thing of great beauty" stuck in a pine tree, or did you break it/lose it/miss the tree?
  17. Not quite correct, dunno where that info came from?
  18. Testing it clearing up some Lime from a ditch. Detaching the winch cable from the forks and using it to drag the butt out of the ditch, the forks then act as spades, digging into the ground for extra purchase.
  19. I dont think there really is a divide on the learning front. You have some excellent facilities up North, at least on a par with anything down here. As far as shows go, supply and demand comes into play, if there is a market for shows in an area, then they will happen. I do think the area is important, perhaps money is harder to come by in certain areas, therefore restricting spending power,
  20. I now have Motorola 446xtr's with the throat mics and covert earpieces, ptt on the lapel, carried in a chest rig. Its all very secure, and out of the way. Clarity is excellent, the covert earpieces are squishy enough not to be uncomfortable beneath defenders. I found the boom mikes a pita, catching on twigs etc, I tried a chest mic, but that kept unclipping and dangling at the worst times. PS the boom mics I tried were not the same as the Stein ones, and I was working in dense bramble/undergrowth PPS Clarity and quality is important in this job, cheap 2-ways do not offer this, and experimenting to find suitable alternatives can prove as dear as just going out and buying a good set-up from a reputable supplier
  21. Well, it looks like a crocodile anyway
  22. Had some new forks fabbed over the weekend, solid "Bash" plate at the back. On test they are far stronger than the originals, and heavier so they dont bounce over the brash.
  23. Thing is,, without Gustharts ( proper North) and Jonesie (proper South) there would only be the AA Show. Due to the fact that these 2 dealers have set up a show, they are going to hold them on their "turf'". All of these shows are quite a trek for me, given I'm nearly as far east as you can get without falling in the North Sea! Anyway, good to see you at the AA, see you at Justins
  24. It wasnt so much a dig at you Kev, more making a point in general. There are complaints from many "Northerners" that everything is organised in the South, yet when an event is planned up there the turn-out is poor. Any of these events only work if people attend. From a personal point of view I was disappointed to not catch up with many of our more northerly membership up there.
  25. Ummm, after a lot of careful consideration, no!
