  2. It would cost alot more than 18k for my arse:scared1:
  3. marlin spike- surley that is weaker than a half hitch due to the tighter bend of the rope? I'd not recomend it. As for not using the running bowline- can you say why
  4. 6 months is quite an age for friction cord of any spec- think of the abuse it gets- i would have issues passing it on age alone. Was it glazed or did it have memory? Pics would be great.
  5. I never see the point in splicing prussic- it's a disposable item. I have worn a piece out since saturday ( harsh abuse) but illustrates my point
  6. What reason was given for faliure and do you have a pic?
  7. That's my set-up. I do contract climb as well as my own work
  8. Some nice delicate pruning for a change. This one even had leaves on it when i finished:001_tt1: It's a variagated beech. The roots had been cooked when a new tarmac drive was installed causind some harsh die-back. However it is in good vigour so it's canopy recovered very well, many of the seemingly dead branches recovered, flushing with new leaf. So a nice symathetic crown clean was the way forward, including the removal of any reverted growth. Nice climbing despite it been really slippy towards the end
  9. Looks like the Komet wire-core. They seem to be supplied with a screwgate as standard. Confusing when krab is not to standard and as per best practice there is no cuttable link
  10. foots an unusual purple and green colour Vitamin I has worked wonders. Glad you made it Kev
  11. So over protective is thinking your disgust is sad and out of order? If so yeah that's me!
  12. My initial concern apart from the obvious lack of foliage density is the weak basal union. Secondly is the possible root issues (possible root-plate movement?) I would address these before considering any other option. What's the point in investing in a flawed structure?
  13. Everyone has a talent - why not make the most of it
  14. You mean this pic? Alot of them did not come out, will try and lighten a couple of them up when i'm back home
  15. Heather, her husband is a member here, and an old friend of mine. She is a fantastic sculptor. I had forgotten how much she loves her picture taken
