  1. I was talking about the length, they should be adjusted as long as possible
  2. geckos are more comfortable for me, others prefer trad spikes. Are the ones you using adjusted correctly?
  3. I have a 20, 35, 40 and 45. 40 is most used
  4. Self rescue if your cut is usually the ONLY option. Time is against you, and you don't have much of it!
  5. or if the casualties line is intact, you can transfer to that and use you own lifeline to move you both back to the centre of the tree. But i like your idea better Peter
  6. i'm going to bring my thermals if it does not warm up soon!
  7. If you are unsure of the length required, you could always phone them and ask for recomendations. A 35 or 40m rope is usually sufficient for 90% of tree work imho
  8. Another method is to get steradent, or any other cleaner for false teeth. drop a couple of tablets in and leave overnight
  9. it's about habitat creation, not visual amenity. I think you missunderstand it's function Butch
  10. If the roots are suspect then not being in the tree is always an option. Just thinking out loud here and trying to think of a way of avoiding alot of awkward saw work
  11. Ever considered winching the tops off where applicable with as small a back cut as required to give a nice rip/fracture effect
  12. belt here. Can't stand a gusset full of sawdust. I always undo it though when i put my harness on

  16. I'm using firefox too. You lot still using the crap IE?
  17. Works for me. Loads of pretty ladies, but i bet there aint an angel amoungst em:wave:
  18. :icon14:They also charge at a premium rate so to fund the franchise. Do some more research and good luck!
  19. The strength is not an issue for me. I have broken 2 now, both caught by a rigging lines in awkward situations. If it had been a steel krab, i'd have been in real crap! To be honest there weakness is reasuring
  20. Why does everyone say that?
  21. I hope not, i'm taking my camera
  22. Would be nice to get the mewp out too if you have time Dean
  23. works well. I have taken the gate off mine to make the hooking/unhooking one handed
