  1. if you're not planning on felling it in the direction its weighted then strip it
  2. the 2x is a great machine im sure, if all your timber is 10" diameter or below
  3. no probs mate....well worth it IMO!

  4. congratulations mate! if the heart beating blew you away, you should consider having one of these 4D Scan - Babybond we had one for our second babe....well worth the £100 or so we paid, you get a dvd and everything.
  5. i cant believe how much these machines have gone up. the dalen was to be my next machine when i originally saw it, about 3 years ago. from memory it was just under 8k then!
  6. definetly. 5k is nearer what its worth IMO.
  7. never heard either of those names round these parts ed and i do a lot of mod work
  8. some people get confused between this forum and the lounge butch, i shall move it now!
  9. haha....actually it was someone thats felled a lot more big trees than probably most the people on here will ever fell
  10. i was once told(and ive not tried this) that if you do your felling cuts then walk around the tree anti-clockwise to start your back cut, it will always be even
  11. how much are they charging you if i may ask?
  12. i looked at the oh60 when i was purchasing but chose the 1x37 for a number of reasons. firstly, i definetly preferred the chainsaw over the blade....but probably what swung it for me was the size of the splitting bay. although the chain only cuts 37cm, you can actually fit substantially larger rings than this in the splitter bay. nothing wrong with the oh60 though im sure, and quite a bit cheaper too i guess.
  13. its about the same as mine in minutes, probably use more texts though
  14. i heard theres some guy out in brisbane, i think it was....goes round videoing other tree surgeons at work....dont think hes quite the ticket
  15. jeremy, why not post it in the classifieds?
  16. that was deleted as the dates were wrong!
  17. not so much cutting advice but one thing that really bugs me is when im snedding a tree and someone comes along with a saw and starts cutting at the same tree. this is very dangerous, please dont do it!!
  18. not used the echo, but the robin is worth a look suzanne, and gives a far better quality cut
