  1. 460 for me, although I now have a 461 which seems an even better saw still. Its just a great saw, the balance on it feels great for aerial work, as well as the lower end grunt it has. Wouldn't use anything else in that size range.
  2. Its not that I need showing the ropes Benn, its all pretty straight forward really. I just don't think its a particularly good method of tree climbing at this point. I'm trying to prove myself wrong though
  3. Micks solution seems the only sensible one from what the pics show. Can't see any targets though other than that fence, is there something we can't see? Even Micks solution is unlikely to leave the fence intact.
  4. Any day off work is always a good day!
  5. Question for people using a pinto rather than a hitch climber for their hitch/wrench combo. Where do you clip your chest harness to for advancement?
  6. if you can send me a link to where I can get that outfit. it might just give me the push I need to buy a road bike
  7. I have to say that is one of the gayest cycling outfits I have yet seen, and most of them look pretty gay, well done finding it I keep toying with the idea of a road bike, just have a mountain bike at the moment and that doesn't get used as much as it should do.
  8. I recommend you go and try them all on. Theres a whole bunch of good trousers on the market these days and most of them are pretty good quality. Its the fit that decides if they are right for you IMO. The new arbortecs look smart. One of my mates has them, another tried a pair on and they sag round the crotch, he is just the wrong dimensions for them. I have always found myself between sizes in many brands, thats why I stick to brands where the fit suits my physique rather than shopping by brand or style. Theres always complaints on trousers with crotches going, zips going. I believe some of this is down to the fit on the individual as much as it is faulty workmanshop by the manufacturer
  9. Yep, I have a haas and a right footed CRT ascender, chest harness etc. I can make a 40ft ascent without any effort. I see the benefit there for sure
  10. I remember those days, they were no fun whatsoever but the feeling of accomplishment at the end of every day made it worth it.
  11. I too am on Slow Rope Technique now. I am definetly not as fast up and down as someone of any age climbing DRT, I find I get a lot less done while im up there than most of the nippers and veteran climbers, and normally hit the ground last regardless of the size of tree
  12. Benn, are you free next week by any chance? I need this tree removed, no damage. Also need the stump ground out please Stunning Tubular Glass House Built Around Tree
  13. That doesn't look fun at all Ben
  14. Yep it does. I'd rather give instructions for the 3001 than some of the others though. It couldn't be simpler really.
  15. I have owned one of these since they first came out, what's that 6 years now? Today was the first time I have ever used it from the groundsmans perspective. Pretty cool ain't they!?
  16. I'm going to be in the market for a new hedge trimmer myself soon. I think I will be going for a dolmar which is basically a re-badged fuji robin. Fantastic quality of cut unlike many of the other machines.
  17. Not an option at the point unfortunately, but thanks
  18. You're right Mark, heaps of room for a fell, what was I thinking!?
