1. Started this 99.9% Beech reduction today using Slow Rope Technique
2. Why on earth didn't the guy he was talking to physically restrain him from doing that. What an idiot though!
3. Bit harsh. Have used them a lot over the past few weeks on various saws. No they are not as good as Stihl but I wouldn't describe them as crap by any means. Does the old saying buy cheap buy twice come into play here? IMO no, for what they are and the price they represent value for money. If you want the utmost performance you can get then stick with Stihl, but for the money these are good chains and many people probably wouldn't notice the difference.
4. Update: I'm genuinely hoping to reach that enlightenment stage and post on here how great SRT is. It's not going to be today though
5. A role like this is becoming more and more attractive to me with age! Hope you get someone decent mate.
6. I'd put money on that being Elm. That leafs from something else
7.
They are probably too large mate

8.
It was moved to the lounge, it has nothing to do with trees.

9. Everyone saying don't lend or borrow are right. But its not always possible, specially when just starting out. A good compromise I would suggest if this situation arises again is to buy yourself a bar and chain and just borrow a powerhead
10. My 201 is more reliable than any 200 I had ever was. Just upgraded from a 460 to a 461, expecting to be happy. Some new saws have troubles no doubt, but in general people do just like to whinge about stuff imo
11. Thats an awesome buttress...wouldn't fancy grinding that one out
12. Honestly, it's like being in a school here sometimes

Bow Saw

I predict the Bahco will spend a lot of time left at home in the shed
14. Never tried burning it but I would expect it to be just like other poplar.
15. Got any pics of the hole tree?
16. Maybe consider having a smaller saw ported by spud to bring the power more in line with a larger saw.
