  1. Heres a direct link to their carving section https://www.arboristsite.com/community/forums/wood-carving-turning.80/
  2. Hi Sean, We have some fantastic carvers frequent this forum, unfortunately the membership is predominantly UK based so you'll be unlikely to find help here. Have you tried https://arboristsite.com ?
  3. Frjones is well worth an hours drive. It’s the arborists equivalent to toys’were’us
  4. Bit further, but greens at hadleigh are worth a look, and I wouldn’t go anywhere else for chainsaw maintenance.....except for spud of course
  5. They are still there surprisingly. Most photo bucket pics failed
  6. Anyone else using this? A friend introduced me about 4 months ago and i've made over £200 in cashback for purchasing things I was going to buy anyway. All you do is visit quidco, search for what you want to buy and then they forward you to the vendor. If you make a purchase they track your cashback automatically. A lot of things only earn a couple of quid here and there, but some of the others like broadband, insurance pay a pretty decent payout as you can see from my screenshot below. And a shameless plug, if you use this referrer code we both get a free tenner ? https://www.quidco.com/raf/8858803/
  7. Short, needed longer probably a half dozen times in my career and even then I got by
  8. Prices vary drastically all over. Best bet would be to search local sites and see what they are charging. I'm guessing in Surrey it will be the higher end of the scale
  9. Well if you're selling it by volume rather than weight I can't see you need a separate formula for seasoned or unseasoned Be a simple case of converting feet to meters with an online converter then doing the maths
  10. Welcome whats the reason for the question exactly? No one sells by the cord in the uk, usually goes by the ton or by cubic meters. I assume you are uk based from the use of £ signs
  11. don't need anything all too powerful for home. I still have my bg85 although its getting a little tired and I don't really plan on replacing it. Does that little model take the pro batteries or the homeowner range? That would be the clincher
  12. How does that compare to a bg85 out of interest? Planning on kitting myself out with the battery range for home
  13. On the other side of the coin, isn't it sad that this guy is considered a great bloke simply for returning something that didn't belong to him
  14. By all means feel free to start another, who knows, it might be contagious
  15. Very nice indeed! Hope you put it to good use
  16. Well its in my price range, but I think the shipping might kill it
  17. No idea what this vehicle is, but I want one. Screenshot from episode 10 of Taken
  18. I guess you got this sorted by now. If not, i don't know if this head is available without the excavator or not but it might be worth a call 6ton forestry excavator hire
  19. @justinkingwell would probably be a good man to ask Tractor Flair Hire
  20. I thought I had some but can't find them. Mulching is a good idea. I'm of a similar mind that maybe its best to just get it done in one hit
  21. Picture the scenario: mature Oak tree that has sustained lightning damage in the past. The tree has been reduced previously and now has approximately 3-4m regrowth. With the condition of the affect stem(basically the whole of one of the leaders is damaged) it has been recommended that the tree is reduced back to the previous points as ongoing maintenance. The result of this would be a loss of a considerable amount of foliage due to the crown being quite open and most of the growth being on the regrowth. With the dry year last year the vitality of the tree is questionable, and perhaps carry out the reduction in one hit might not be advisable. One suggestion thats been made is to carry out the works over 3 years. This would involve reducing a third of the canopy thus achieving the full reduction in the 3 years. I have issues with basically leaving a tree looking part finished over a 3 year period, although I can see the sense behind it. I am not involved in working on the tree(I hope), but am aware of the report (i wrote it) and suggested plan of action. Thought it would make for an interesting discussion.
  22. That was in reference to pruning and deadwooding. Doesn’t change the fact that this is pretty impressive
