  1. We certainly got luck with the weather didn't we! Lets see how people stomach standing outside queues at tescos in the wind and rain!
  2. Where exactly? Can't replicate it myself
  3. Congratulations from Arbtalk to David Humphries for winning the London Tree and Woodlands Individual Commitment Award. David has been a member here on Arbtalk from almost the beginning and I don't believe theres many people who frequent these forums both past and present, that haven't taken away some valuable knowledge that he has imparted on us. His knowledge and advice has always been given freely, always going above and beyond to provide in-depth answers to anyone that has asked. One thing that has always impressed me with David(on top of his general enthusiasm) is his organisational skills. Time and time again he revives posts from several years previous, with follow up images and information on previous work he has been a part of. Personally, I struggle to pull up my own threads from a week ago! We've been fortunate enough to have some very valuable contributors over the years to this forum, but I believe its fair to say David has always stood out when it comes to his fungi knowledge, and his general conduct on the forum. Seeing his passion here over the years, it is of no surprise that he won this award, and i'm sure it won't be the last he wins. Well done David, and thank you on behalf of everyone at Arbtalk!
  4. I assume thats the road to the left and the tree's quite weighted in that direction by the looks of it? With that amount of fungus present its quite possible that the root plate is already shot unfortunately. I don't see much point in spending money on a consultant from what I can see in the photo
  5. If they have told you you're not going to be using a saw, then no you shouldnt be expected to wear those things.
  6. Unless it’s a really small tree it’s unlikely it will be much use
  7. Mostly, more to shield my parents than anything else. We don't really go out all that much, although do still enjoy eating out once a week. Thats a nicer experience at the moment though anyway due to most places being half empty.
  8. Yeah I considered that, but really the amount that died although tragic, is not really a huge number on the scale of things...maybe a small dent in the amount of venerable people in the population
  9. In my opinion its entirely plausible that the drop in death rates over the summer was as much attributable to the warmer temperatures than it was the lockdown.
  10. You need to list yourself in the tip site directory
  11. Of course! should be some random sized pieces available at a bargain price soon then ?
  12. Looking at prices, thats probably a crap idea
  13. perspex maybe? unless you are throwing logs in there of course
  14. Nowt strange as folk! I assume that was you who sent the pint earlier. Thank you
  15. Yep they've unchecked the option to receive reviews
  16. ps, pub closed 53 minutes ago ?
  17. Can you give me a link to the listing? Perhaps they unticked the box that allows reviews to be left, i'll check
  18. right at the bottom of every listing. I should maybe change that. Glad you found it useful
  19. What model is the saw? Have you checked theres not any known issues with that model? Stubby's possibly right, but if you've only started having this problem recently and with only this model it adds something else to consider.
  20. no toilet roll in tescos again today
  21. As per the title. I think mst of us so far have been relatively unaffected, in fact the opposite seems true in most cases...people are rushed off their feet. Even so, I think theres bad times ahead and it pays to have some ideas up your sleeve. I have a few things i'm working on, hopefully one (or more)of them will pan out, and always looking for new ideas. I did post the other day about my partners teething product business that I am helping her with, but thought it would make a good subject of its own in the general chat section. Branching Out During Covid-19 | Arbtalk Media | Websites for Tree Surgeons ARBTALKMEDIA.CO.UK Like most people, here at Arbtalk Media we have been assessing the situation in the world, wondering where to go...
  22. After last time I’d like to think most people keep at least one large pack in reserve. There’s not really much of an excuse to be caught short a second time round. our Tesco’s was completely sold out today. Also limiting stock on certain items
  23. Yep go ahead, that’s what this treads for. And welcome!
  24. Not disagreeing. Was just Throwing an alternative view in the op
