  1. Starting from November the 1st, DEAL has launched a comprehensive promotional campaign on key selling machines in their expanded set up. Carry on reading to learn more about DEAL and these exclusive offers. Deal Wales in partnership with UK importer Spectrum Plant have committed to support two of their now “Key Franchises” is a mass territory expansion across the bridge into South West of England. David Evans Agricultural Limited – Trading as “DEAL Wales” was Founded by David Evans in 1993 and for almost 30 years has been well established as one of Wales’s best known and largest machinery dealers. Over the course of time the cultural shift towards from Agricultural machinery to Forestry and Arb equipment came initially in the form of Valtra and the twin track tractor. Naturally as their awareness and knowledge grew in this sector. As a business, new brands have to come to the forefront of the portfolio such as FSI and CAST. With a vast customer base in their armada, and also very experienced staff in the form of Richard Jenkins – Parts Manager for 13 years and STIHL product Champion, as well as Joe Flanagan – Area Sales Manager for under a year but former employee of STIHL GB. DEAL Wales were the logical choice for Spectrum Plant when it came to appointing a dealer in the South Wales territory. A central location in the metropolis of Cardiff just outside Cardiff airport, as well as large highly furnished workshop facility is a few of the tangible things that made the appointment that more attractive. Very quickly the volume of sales and commitment to both the FSI and CAST product became apparent and the level of proactive selling in the marketplace. The CAST SSQ15D Worky Quad saw a huge up take in both the Arb industry but also in Equine and Agriculture. A municipal mini skid loader with the versatility to increase productivity with its impressive loading and lifting capacity boasting and in-depth range of attachments for various functions. DEAL proactively sought to develop a range of their own attachments for these machines including a much needed Rotating Log Grab, 80cm Ground Flail, Side Arm Hedgecutter, Yard Scraper. The FSI B20 Petrol Pedestrian Stump Grinder has also seen huge volumes of sales by DEAL. In the words of Joe Flanagan from DEAL “We have worked hard to get the message across to our customers how affordable this sort or machinery can be. Our finance package of £25 per week on a new B20 has become very attractive. Tree work can become so competitive on pricing especially with the volume of rouge traders in this industry. Why not offer a more unique and complete services and get that ADDED VALUE from your customers offering the whole package including removing the stump in its entirety. We have historically sold machinery to dedicated stump removal service providers but are slowly bringing the rest of the Arb industry on board and getting the message to diversify and expand their services” In light of this and following several discussions with Spectrum Plant. The decision was mutually made by both parties for DEAL’s area of operation to be expanded covering Southern Parts of England historically untouched heading towards the Home Counties boundary. Their new area includes:- FSI South Glamorgan Mid Glamorgan West Glamorgan Gwent Dyfed Powys Bristol Gloucestershire Wiltshire Herefordshire Worcestershire CAST South Glamorgan Mid Glamorgan West Glamorgan Gwent Dyfed Powys Bristol Gloucestershire Wiltshire Somerset Herefordshire Worcestershire Dorset In light of this DEAL have committed to a very large stocking plan to support sales in the expanded area. DEAL are the first UK dealer to take on the long awaited FSI B38 remote control tracked machine. This machine is set to rival the Predator P38 remote control with its narrow access capabilities and impressive cutting performance. As well as this DEAL will be the first dealer in the UK to stock the entire portfolio of FSI pedestrian and tracked machinery as well as all models of the CAST Worky Quad. 7. GreenMech Ltd have announced a rationalisation of their dealer network in the South and South East, which will see an expansion in coverage area for existing dealer GA Groundcare Ltd, with effect from 1st January 2021. Operating from their purpose-built depot in Poulshot, Wiltshire, GA Groundcare Ltd will become exclusive to the GreenMech franchise, offering supply and support across the full pedestrian, road-tow and tracked chipper portfolio – together with stocking a comprehensive range of GreenMech replacement parts. 11. STIHL has launched the new MS 881, the world’s most powerful series-produced chainsaw, ideal for professional heavy-duty felling, logging and mobile saw mills. With 121.6cc of displacement and 8.6hp/6.4kW output, the MS 881 is not only 19% more powerful than the heavy duty MS 661, but also the only saw in the STIHL line-up to drive a 0.404 pitch chain. With standard bar lengths up to 41” and able to accept guide bars up to 59”, the new saw is the ideal machine to tackle even the most demanding forestry jobs. At the heart of the MS 881 is the STIHL 2-MIX engine that ensures the machine is the only chainsaw in its performance class that meets the strict requirements of the European Euro-5 (EU5) exhaust emission standard. In addition to EU5 compliance, the MS 881 has been engineered with maintaining a great power-to-weight ratio. New construction of cylinders, slimmer sprocket covers, and the development of lightweight components have resulted in an impressive weight-to-power ratio of 1.55Kg/Kw, whilst maintaining robustness and durability. In addition to outstanding power, the new chainsaw is designed with operator comfort in mind thanks to a one-touch stop button, ensuring the MS 881 is ready to start at any time, whenever it is warm. Other design features include captive nuts on the optimised chain sprocket cover that offer additional convenience when changing the chain, as well as a new oil pump that regulates oil flow rate according to demand, guaranteeing optimum oil flow at all times. A long service life and ease of maintenance are improved through the use of a new HD2 air filter with a radial seal that provides excellent protection against fine dust often created when planking and in saw mill environments. The introduction of a diagnostic socket means that specialist dealers can quickly identify a fault and eliminate it quickly. 12. the more i think about it, i doubt that 20% of the people i have worked with over the past 20+ years are still in the game. Yes some are probably dead before anyone says it
  13. 4ft puts you in Stihl MS462 territory really, which would be a fair bit over your budget unless you can pick up an older model 460 second hand.
  14. Welcome Pete, what sort of size are the trunks you want to cut and whats your budget?
  15. Add yourself here https://arbtalk.co.uk/recycling
  16. Yep I know both those things. It tightens up so tight then the plastic just flexes when trying to undo it.
  17. Seems to be an issue of the oil cap being particularly hard to undo. Anyone else found this and have a solution?
  18. Brilliant saw. I ran them for years and never had a single issue. Always ran mine of 25” bars
  19. Its looking that way! We also just got back from tescos, first itme theres been queues outside in a while. I doubt theres any toilet roll left by now
  20. Rarely bat an eyelid when celebs die, they are just normal people to me. This ones kinda sad though Sean Connery: James Bond actor dies aged 90 WWW.BBC.CO.UK He was the first to bring the role to the big screen and appeared in seven of the spy thrillers.
  21. That has to be the worst grafting i've seen in a while, I would have rejected them personally.
  22. Please consider adding it to https://arbsafe.co.uk I had a phone call from Sussex police yesterday who were very keen to get the contact details on an Arbtalk user. They had managed to pull up his Arbtalk post in google where he reported some stolen equipment. When I spoke to the officer he told me they had hundreds of other items that they just couldn't find owners for. I am hopefully going to try and work with them in some way. Theres a misconception that once kit dissappears thats it, its shipped off to a foreign land. Its not always the case though and every year tonnes of gear gets auctioned off simply because the police can't locate the owners. I started Arbsafe around 6 years ago to help combat that problem. Its a 100% free service, you simply enter an inventory of ALL your gear in the system, and then in the case of it being stolen you can change its status to appear in the publicly searchable database of stolen equipment. I tired of promoting it a long time ago as people just can't be bothered to take the time to list their gear even though its completely free. Unfortunately systems such as this need mass to work, and whilst there are nearly 2000 bits of equipment listed its pretty small fry in the grand scheme of things. Anyway, waffling now. Please consider listing your chipper though, and anything else that you have!
  23. im actually half way through migrating all the old data onto this site, just needs further development work that I haven't got the time for at present.
