  1. Had a couple people say this. I think it’s a browser related issue. Can you tell me what browser and device you are using and I’ll see if I can replicate it. metadata is the description that will show up in google. Not vitally important to fill this out
  2. Happy Christmas everyone. Fight hard this year and prepare for a great 2022
  3. 7 bottles of red, mostly chilean and Argentinian....and a fiancé, Italian, but we all have to make some concessions with brexit
  4. Insult someones house that they likely work very hard for and struggle like the rest of us, then claim its ok because it was toungue in cheek, yep thats how it works mate
  5. I don’t think that’s dirt cheap at all. It’s not a massive tree, easy drop zone. The right team will easily deal with that in a day or less
  6. 3 pages of jokes for what is quite a serious matter. Poor form guys. On a more positive note I hear the villagers are having a whip round for a new hedge
  7. Yep got that part...it was the mention of fungi. I assumed you meant there should be a sort of secondary scale for how safe it is when colonised by each fungi. That would result in loads of different figures. I think the easiest way would be to list all associated fungi with the tree and link them to the relevant fungi in the fungi section. The same thing will happen on the fungi section, each fungi will list trees that are affected and they will in turn link back to the correct page on the tree section. This could result in a bit of back and forth but would keep each section a bit cleaner I think. Hope that makes sense
  8. No, it was a good point..just a case of how to implement it. I'm also in the process of reviving the old fungi directory so they can be interlinked to a certain extent.
  9. That could get very clunky and confusing Paul, so many variables. Would be interested in how you think that could work though? Yes the image is illustrative. I'll be wanting to include plenty of text, but i'll probably move it further down the page and keep the key info at the top. The tabs will allow people to jump straight to the relevant section without having to scroll down a long page also. Tackling the user interface is going to be the tricky part. As for getting all the info together, well that could drag on for years! A worthwhile project though
  10. No ones going to pay you to fell it. Your best bet is getting it down then trying to sell the trunk. Don’t expect it to cover the cost of the removal though
  11. I'm wire framing this so all these comments are super helpful Keep them coming. We can make this really useful between us
  12. My insurance provider told me that I didn't need insurance due to the work I was doing. However my main customers insurers told them that I did need insurance to work for them. This was wrong, my provider assured me it was wrong, and ultimately for the sake of my £300 premium and the amount of work I got from said company, I just kept it running. Few months back the same company I used to sub to asked me for a recommendation on insurance. I told them to give me previous provider a phone, which they did and had a long conversation, including the issue with sub contractors insurance. They went back to their existing company with the information, who finally conceded that actually their subbies would be covered under their insurance after all.
  13. Happy to be proven wrong but I fear you will be disappointed. Simon will clear this up for us when he sees my tag.
  14. @simon wilson care to comment?
  15. One last post, broken down. Do you sub contract to a company, provide your own vehicles, tools, and staff, Price and undertake the job independantly from the main contractor? If yes you need insurance, if no, then you don't. Are you self employed and work for companies as part of their teams providing labour(ground or climbing) and your own gear? No you don't need insurance, you will be covered under theres. That includes their employers liability too.
  16. Again, the confusion lies in the term sub contractor. This has been done to death on arbtalk. Very few self employed guys are sub contractors, and this certainly isn't what the OP would fall under.
  17. You’re confused on the subject
  18. Yep that’s exactly right. You don’t need insurance
  19. This would be a great feature to have right here on Arbtalk. We could quite easily compile an online database using everyones experience here and include all the info you mentioned above and more. I've been looking for a new project for when things quieten down a little and this could be it!
  20. I’ve been doing this nearly 14 years, you’re nothing new 😀
  21. Coming up with cool discount code names isn’t my thing
