  1. It’s not low. The poster said she can do it in a day. It’s reasonable to assume a professional with professional gear is probably going to do it in half a day.
  2. Im going to get my chainsaw out again and cut a recess then screw the legs straight into the recess
  3. Take a look at the stihl battery range of products. They probably are amongst the lowest vibes available
  4. One more question. This table isn’t ideal as far as where I can put legs on the thinner end. Can I build up this gap with resin then drill into it?
  5. Doesn’t matter how hard I try to do things the right way or how much I spend on new tools, the chainsaw always ends up coming out 😂
  6. There really is no rhyme or reason to it. I’ve known people to register and be contacted the same day, whereas others like yourself end up waiting a year. I’m sure you’ll be contacted eventually
  7. I managed to order the nylon discs in the link earlier
  8. That black and decker sanding drum looks to be discontinued. It’s out of stock everywhere and some places have marked it discontinued. any other solutions?
  9. Any chance of a direct link to these? Struggling to find them on the site
  10. Thanks, I’ll take a look
  11. Is the resin on that same page ok?
  12. Thanks for all the tips. Wood is very dry, been sitting in a barn for about 4 years. Is this the bronze stuff you mean? Like the idea of that. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Polycraft-Bronze-Powder-Cold-Filler/dp/B00364PJ9E/ref=mp_s_a_1_13?crid=LJP1J2ZX6CX9&keywords=bronze+powder+for+resin&qid=1640806148&sprefix=bronze+powder%2Caps%2C58&sr=8-13
  13. Also I’ve done yew boards to play with. I think these are going to become multi tiered displayed stands for shows
  14. These are the boards I have to work with. One on the left will be a console table and I’m hoping to get a coffee table out of the one on the right. coupke questions, how to fill the little holes. And do I just sand down the nobbly bits on the edge? Cause my lack of correct terminology 😀
  15. In answer to your question, the contact button is clicked on between 80-100 times per day on average. How many of those clicks result in an actual tip being made I don’t know, but in general I’d say yes it is a very well used feature
  16. These sites that only take tiny amounts shouldn’t be on there. I have no way of checking all the sites and rely on people reporting sites like this so I can remove them
  17. Seen it a few times myself though not necessarily to the extent of the one in the photos which is why I wondered if it can also be some sort of canker
  18. Bit of Googling suggests it’s ulmus alata, or winged elm in English. can’t speak for everyone else on the forum but elm trees are a bit before my time so my ident on different varieties isn’t too hot! 19. I think it’s elm, not sure if it’s a specific variety that does this or some sort of bacterial canker.
  20. I sometimes wonder if they even get out their car
  21. Ignore that, just treated myself to a jointer
  22. Would one of these be able to do the job of a biscuit jointer? Einhell 4465160 VARRITO 18V Cordless Multi-Tool (Body Only) | Toolden WWW.TOOLDEN.CO.UK We are the UK's fastest growing Power Tool distributor. Supplying Power Tools, Hand Tools, Tool...
  23. What’s the need for wax on top of oil? I thought it was one or the other
  24. Thanks. The wood itself is going to be pretty dark anyway so I don’t think the actual colour the oil leaves is going to be an issue, more the finish it leaves.
  25. Been researching this online and there’s a million different ways. Looking for advice on the best process for finishing elm, ie what sandpaper’s to use, and the best oil, wax or lacquer to apply. This will be for a console table and a coffee table so will be reasonably well used. thanks
