There is the option of having both bar and chain combos and swapping them out when you're having a brew when you first rock up to a job.

12 inch for me on 540 an 201 did have the upgrade kit fitted to my 201 and tried a 16 on it OK for the odd cut to save having a ground saw sent up but bogs down to match in the cut IMO

I just find 14in is just too big it's just not comfortable..... Oh right sorry top handle bar length, for me it's 12inch as it's easier to handle in tight spaces and once it's stripped and something bigger is needed a rear handle is easier to use. For example stripping eppi of a lime that been left for five plus years, no space and loads of cuts so the silky would not be cost effective.
