OK, all joking aside, do people really think the result of the resent election would have been any different under another system?

If Labour and all the other parties combined they could not form a working majority, so I fail to see how a different electoral system would have changed much.

For the last few decades we have had 3 party politics, because of the success of the Lib-dems.

But this election has taken us very much back to the 2 party politics of my youth, that makes getting a decent majority pretty difficult.

I acknowledge that our system has its fault, just look at UKIP"s hay day, 4million votes and 1 seat, that can't be right.

But in this current election I really do feel people are grasping at straws if they think a different system would have changed the result, if anything the tory's would have done better in a different system or at least labour would not have done as well as they did.

But I ain't no expert.

Proportional representation makes more sense to me. If whoever is in charge is scared by individual votes counting, then they probably don't have a mandate.

It's an antiquated system from back in the days where people weren't so interconnected.

I just couldn't agree more with this. I felt my vote was wasted this year- I knew which party was going to win in my area and my vote was lost in the wind.

Had it been individual votes counting directly towards PM id have felt much better about it.
