like my old long departed grandfather used to say,,

"it doesn't matter who you vote for,,, the government always wins"

the whole political system is nothing more than a very bad joke,,,,, on us!

if they strongly believed in reforms policies and aims,, then why were they with an opposing party in the first instance, nothing but a bunch of self serving leeches with a handful of party flags, that change with whatever keeps them firmly in the trough.

Yawn!

😂😂I thought as much, mind you I’ve never tried the above alternative

You might as well every time you post something even broadly political.

You’re such a filthy dirty slut for the status quo. If every MP had to blind a child with a knitting needle when they won a seat and someone spoke out about it, I’m pretty sure you’d say, “Grow up. It is what it is.”

What has happened to the Green party?

I actually voted green once or twice many years ago.  That makes me shudder now.

At an event over the weekend Zack Polanski said in a speech that "...multi-millionaires and billionaires. They have taken our power, our wealth, our democracy and we are here to take it back."

For some reason he forgot to mention that the top 1% of earners in the Uk pay currently a higher overall tax rate than at any time in history.  Or to put it into figures the top 1% of earners pay currently 29% of all UK income tax.

So I guess he mis-spoke and what he meant to say is "Thank God we still have quite a few super wealthy people left in the UK as we really would be screwed without them."

Unless he really said what he meant in which case he and his party have become extremely dangerous to our cost of living, our public services and at the same time they could reasonably be accused of stirring up division and jealousy.

Or have I missed something?

The Duke of Westminster inherited a 10billion estate and payed no tax at all on it.

That's the sort of wealth that should be taxed. He is an example of the super rich that Polanski is referring to..

Well he should have said that!  He said “Millionaires and Billionaires”.  Many millions of people in the UK are millionaires.

And you need to remember that the reason for paying no Inheritance tax is that the assets are in trust and that instead the trust pays other taxes.  Namely the trusts pay 6% tax every ten years.  Not just on inheritance but potentially several times in an average lifetime.

So as usual it is a myth that the country is awash with rich people paying no tax.

My landlord is also worth billions and when he died and his son inherited the titles and estates the IHT bill was over £70 million.

So the Prosperity Institute.

Controlled by four directors, only one of whom resides in the UK. Predominantly funded by a Dubai-based investment company that also funds GB News. (There seem to be questions around the owner of the investment group's links to Russia.) The balance of donations to the institute facing some controversy over funding transparency.

This all seems like exactly the shadowy influence and dirty money that Mr Booby is trying to tackle. The "large group of pieces  who are not always visible in the game but are able to manipulate both the main players and the pawns, and even change the board entirely to a completely different game, but usually with the same goal." That you were referring to in this post:-

The whole concept of politics today has more than ever before become one big game, with the population as the often unwilling pawns, it's becoming pretty obvious liars and con men, grifters in all parties, call them what you like have little or no interest in improving anything but their own existence, wealth and position in the game,at the cost of the pawns, who then move to supporting another perceived answer to the problems caused by the preceding players, but in truth is just another lying, dishonest con  man grifter claiming to be the answer.

in addition to this concept is the large group of pieces  who are not always visible in the game but are able to manipulate both the main players and the pawns, and even change the board entirely to a completely different game, but usually with the same goal.

it's a general rule to keep the pawns as divided and hostile towards each other as possible and this is quite easy as most are easily suckered into believing the spiel spouted by the players, even when others try to inform them of the move.

"your move":sneaky2:

Us common people are all in the same boat, we're all on the same side. We're being played by the mega rich and powerful. As you say.
