Yes I a bit confused with how it's spread as surely the construction as you said are concrete cubes. The passageways are bare so very little to burn and spread through the building. Yes I can understand the outside cladding spreading the fire being fuelled by the wind but surely the smoke would remain outside

Quite often in blocks of flats, you'll find that internal firedoors will either be wedged open or fail to close properly. Even when they do work the stairwells have the potential to turn the place into a big chimney. Nightmare.

Some serious questions and investigations are needed here. I'd guess the source of the cladding might not be as described as supposed to be fire proof. Cheap stuff used instead to save a few quid?

Just terrible scenes at those burned out high flats...

Residents had been complaining for years about the lack of safety in the event of a fire.

Bloody awful.Thoughts to those affected

They are asking on the tv did a fridge fire cause it? Surely it had to be far more than that

Sickening seeing that block burning and my thought go out to all involved.

Sadly this sort of thing with some types of external insulation catching fire is not without precedence [ame=http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xquk2n_exclu-l-incendie-de-roubaix-filme-par-un-voisin_news]EXCLU : l'incendie de Roubaix filmé par un voisin - vidéo Dailymotion[/ame]

Easy two arrests or 250 arrests. Probably 20 cops so they'll take the soft option yet they can claim success in stopping an illegal rave

Sounds more like they waited for it to end rather than stop it.
