Making the news today....

Sadly that's pretty much a description of most of the young, grown up in the EU and have zero sense of country or the history that brings.

That's not a banging the drum nationalism.

As you must seperate the layers, but other than relocation for say work, I would never leave up sticks and leave.

Ok, I am a farmer so indebted servitude aside. Maybe that's different for those living in towns and cities, but my forebears fought for this country and I wouldn't want to shame that away.

The Bank of England warns UK faces a "challenging" two-year slump - the longest since records...

Well was the last couple of years worth it I wonder ? Or was it the straw that broke the camels back ?, I genuinely think we are after successive poor governments who have failed the population of this country beyond sorting things out.

The truth can be viewed on the streets of any coastal town in Kent J.

I appreciate that your location means you're at the focal point of one aspect of UK immigration. But seen as a whole, we don't take many. Go to Devon for instance, and it's a much less diverse affair.

It's not a question of shaming anything away, IMO. Our forebears fought for a noble cause with the hope of a better future. That has largely been the case.

But times change, three generations have passed and the future isn't exactly looking great. It's important that people have the right to try to improve their situation, and the freedom of movement we had within the EU afforded that. But I am biased, as I'm anti-Brexit and I've recently left the UK!

Without sounding old fashioned I would feel like I was shaming my history as I am proud to know enough about history in general to respect how we have got where we are.

It's the rough with the smooth argument, if I was from a war torn country I would want to stay and make it better and not flee.

Fair play to you; you are a better man than me. First sign of trouble and I'm on the first plane, boat, or whatever out of here. I may or may not be screaming like a girl whilst making the arrangements.
