Making the news today....

Good on him, I've put the heating on full blast and had the taps running all night in celebration.

Anyone witnessing the hysterical response from the mainstream media and globalist elites like Merkel/Obama/Macron would think Trump is about to blow up the planet for the hell of it.

.

I'm sorry, but that comment proves that you are a pillock with your head stuck up your own ever angry backside.

Science is all we have to reliably determine what is going on with our planet, and despite whatever random memes you will no doubt pull from the internet, the scientific community is overwhelmingly agreed that we are in the process of making the Earth a worse place to live for our children.

If you don't care sufficiently about this then you are a monster.

Taking a selfish punt that the climate scientists are wrong on this issue is a morally indefensible position.

Well said Village idiot:thumbup1:

It's pathetic really- some people feel they have to say the most ridiculous things in some attempt to come across as outrageous or to go against the grain even if they no dam well they have no evidence of their own to back up their comments.

Donald Trump is basically a huge egotistical who couldn't lose face by taking expert opinion against his own and admitting that he may be wrong.

Any one who doesn't take climate change seriously is basically sticking their heads in the sand with little regard for any future generations-as you say selfish.

The constant striving for "growth" (political, industrial, population etc) is what frustrates me.

If only the same focus and energy was expended on striving for "reduction" (living within international, national, personal means) that'd be a better focus of attention.

Yes, I agree. That is the root of a lot of the world's ill's. I think the finger also needs to point at nationalism here.

We in the UK are embarrasingly rich compared to most of the rest of the world's population. To relentlessly push for ever more growth and prosperity when the inevitable consequence is increased suffering in other populations is pretty gross.

If you really want a fair comparison of polluters check out the stats per capita, it paints a very different picture.

Bob

No surprises there- that's about what I expected. But I also think it's unrealistic as Australia only has 20million or so in a vast country- surely that would put the per capita up wouldn't if?

Yes, surprising that the US rates 12th per capita but also fairly irrelevant. The US is home to a lot of capitas, and is the country who has contributed most greenhouse gas emmisions over time.

As a country, they have the most to answer for, and it is pretty disgraceful that they don't see their obligation to help the rest of the world try to find a solution.

It is worth pointing out that there are 183 countries with less emmissions per capita than the US who are not sticking up their middle fingers to the world.

The "climate scientists" are on the take. In the 70's they were predicting an ice age. Vostok core samples...nuff said. I used to believe in man made global warming too, eventually I opened my mind to hearing the other side, now I'm firmly convinced it's a communist plot. It took four or five years to make the mental transition. I don't blame anyone who still 'believes' but I'll not humour the idea any more, sorry guys.

I agree, what swung it in my mind a few years ago they were on about a passage north of america opening up from the ice for first time, glossing over the fact it was open in the 1800's. I remember when I was at school the doom and gloom was the hole in the ozone and that was gonna kill us all. Never mentioned now. They come up with this stuff to get funds to pay themselves to research this waffle
