Can’t help but think we’re heading inexorably towards mass civil unrest. There is only so much the average Joe will tolerate.

I don’t mean the career / lifestyle, bastard privileged socialist rebel children of middle class parents...

I mean the essential, tax paying, working, small business, self employed types who are reaching the end of their patience with systemic corruption, nepotism and incompetence.

A small mutiny on the Penzance - London train shows what happens when you push people too far.

Agreed, it’s like Andy says the squeeze on those whom are trying to get on is getting disproportionately worse and worse. The Rich as  we are called up here if you earn over£43k have to pay 41% plus NI so basically half your income. Bottom and Top seem to be ok but those i the middle 🤷‍♂️. I’m working with guys whom have said **************** it this year and just will not take any more trips offshore rather than work for half pay. You wouldn’t mind half as much if it tax take was  not spunked in such a reckless stupid manner half the time.

London has long been governed by twats:

I remember "Kommunist Ken Livingston" stamping his feet about Kiwi's and Aussies living packed into private houses to save money in West London, whilst Bengali's in the East end would sledge hammer holes in the walls of social housing flats to give them a more "Village Feel" .They would throw the rubble out the windows for the council to pick up.

Rob I see 1 of the owners of companies  concerned quite regularly swanning around an either a brand new Range Rover or on a good  day a Maserati. The agency are on linked in waffling about how their people are so important to them etc etc. In meantime at least 1 of lads has lost his house, several are on medication and a number of relationships have suffered as a result of the stress and relentless hounding from Hmrc, throw in the covid farce and the results are not hard to foresee.

Yep it's sad and don't really see how the corruption and nonsense will ever end. Those in power benefit from it all - so why would it end?

To take that phrase to a whole new level - what about TCB and his hideous Mrs dodging stamp duty on a swanky London Town house because it was bought through an offshore shell?

You mean “not the one” I take it ??

I meant exactly what I said. Feel free to keep banging your own drum.

What benefits did you gain (and then lose through IR35) by operating a Ltd company? You seem to have a hardon over my tax status.
