What an outrageous, imperialist, freakishly inappropriate thing to say (even in that timeframe.)

If only he could see Zimbabwe today he’d know how absolutely clueless he was....

😂😂😂

People were fed when it was Rhodesia mind.

I think he was right, the world was a much better place when over half the globe was pink.

Lovely. Nice to see that Colonialism is still alive and kicking.

They should think themselves bloody lucky that the glorious British went over there and helped themselves to their resources, after all they helped build some lovely roads, railways and good old colonial style buildings. Then they had the bloody cheek to want their own land back after the Brits had rolled their sleeves up and done all that hard work!

Very true and the proofs in the pudding. They’re begging for the Whites to come back.

it all comes down to culture. English culture (pre-Blair) is superior to anything else on he planet. Certainly any of the shit hole African/Pakistan/middle East/Communist Countries.

The rule of law and trade, English abolishing and enforcing the abolition of Slavery on the high seas on her own, medicine, science, industrial etc etc

At every measure English culture is vastly superior and its a great pity it wasn't enforced more to civilise the affirmationed countries they would be much better off for it now.

You're a complete anachronism mate.

Have you ever heard of the ancient Chinese, Egyptian, South American, Middle Eastern, even Zimbabwean cultures? Most of them were highly civilised well before the "Great" British Empire, we were still grovelling around in the mud when they had their heydays.

Colonialism = Theft by any measure. Good research project done by a guy on R4 on how the British were buying cotton from India, he estimated they robbed the Indians out of ( corrected to todays prices) abt 4t Sterling in tax scams, during occupation and State incomes the Indians would have had.  K
