But I wonder will this murder of Lyra McKee,

get the same unrelenting coverage, and repeated mentions/point scoring at every conceivable opportunity,

as the murder of Jo Cox did/does.

As was said here in the early troubles "they havnt gone away you know", i.e. the IRA/PIRA/NIRA/DIRA.

Reading the article it mentions the Easter Rising 1916. Looking at photos from the time of the aftermath they tried with everything they had to end British rule, but 103 years on still not got rid of us. It's not enough to fire a machine gun and shout 'get out of my country' they would need to mobilize in greater numbers. Maybe Paddy Power has a wager 'odds on British being forced out of Ireland'

You know Ireland isn’t part of the UK?

I was writing imagining the mindset of a republican - to them Ireland is an island the British invaded and they still control the northern part

I've always thought, what Northern Ireland needs is a referendum, to sort it out once and for all :drunk:

So what’s it to be then?

is it:

(a) I’ll dispense with any laws I personally don’t wish to abide by or

(b) I’m too important to abide by the laws which only apply to the ‘little people.’

A relatively insignificant example  scenario but with some considerable implications from the nation’s Shadow Home Secretary.
