Yet it was essentially the very English Civil Service centralised management, under Churchill's watchful eye, of our various industries that made a big difference to our war output, that and drafting of women into the factories.

So looking ahead  .  .  .

The "organised" German nations Army/Navy/Air Force/SS however choose to fight among themselves, and were allowed to, thus duplicating/wasting research efforts and factory output.

Edit: Nor were the German  factories efforts particularily centrally coordinated

So explain that lack of Germanic "planning" ?

That, and I understand, the very very late, too late indeed, understanding that war output did NOT need to be lovingly crafted by skilled tradespersons, as was/is the German tradition.

Well, OK Difflock, am not getting into detail ( the new Panther tanks on delivery failed cos large numbers of slave labourers lovingly crafted engines with fag ends in oil ways n left hydraulic hoses slightly loose ) but we have a better late than never approach which combined with our narcissistic politicians don't do us any favours.

Another little example of the EUs micro management is the fact that they are now trying to do away with us moving the clocks forwards and backwards!! Why? Why does our time being inline out out an hour matter?

That's one helluva spin you got there.

They actually said.

[Quote c&p from BBC by 'ere]

However, the Commission has not yet drafted details of the proposed change.

In a consultation paper it said one option would be to let each member state decide whether to go for permanent summer or winter time. That would be "a sovereign decision of each member state", Commission spokesman Alexander Winterstein explained on Friday.

He stressed that the proposal was "to no longer constrain member states into changing clocks twice per year".

Next you'll be complaining that they're forcing us to pay people enough to live on and oh my god provide a safe working environment. The sooner we're out the better!

What next? Milk and honey for all? Those sick bastards! Is there no end to their depravity?

I'm not normally one to promote violence, but in this case someone should have levelled him.
