Dynamic Positioning (DP) is a technology that uses a vessel's own thrusters, controlled by a computer system, to automatically maintain its position and heading against environmental forces like wind, waves, and currents, essential for deep-sea operations where anchoring isn't feasible. It integrates various sensors (GPS, gyro, motion,subsea beacons, platform based radar and laser reflectors etc) and a control computer  to calculate and apply thrust for precise station-keeping, crucial for offshore diving, drilling, cable laying, research, wind farms  and supporting platforms. etc etc etc

Amazing when it works not so good when it fails, ask Chris Lemon.

Couldn't they just rotate a couple of turbines and gently keep it in place? Ha. Cheers Dave, it seems you do have a sense of humour after all.

A mate was a member of Derwent Valley Running Club. I went along once. The coach gave a little spiel.

"Welcome to the first meeting of the year for DVRC. <yada yada yada>. Any questions?"

<silence>

"Double Vaginal Roman Catholic?"

<much more silence>

Maduro is no better or no worse than many in the world

Sorry??  There's no way the bloke wasn't well up there in the drug trade, making billions running them into America.  A through and through criminal.

When America started bombing the boats, a bloke I met who just been to Trinidad said there was suddenly a lot of high powered speed boats moored in the harbour too nervous to make the crossing.

Speaking of Trinidad, news sites don't mention the state of emergency the country was in due to organised crime being out of control - since Venezuela dictator gained more control over the island.  A lot of celebrations there and Venezuela when America did the job

Trump says that the US will run Venezuela and  American oil companies will run the oil business.

36 hours to take a country and not a single American soldier killed.

If it was a film you’d say it was too far fetched.

Meanwhile hundreds of thousands Russian soldiers dead and cities reduced to rubble in a war in stalemate.

An extraordinary day in history.

Block an entire countries air defence systems, send up 150+ aircraft, land in the prime ministers garden and walk off with him without losing a single man.

A lot of countries are watching I reckon!

Where do we apply!😂

Poor bastards are fleeing the war there.

You know, the one that ended in 1945?

My Grandad fixed aircraft in the Battle of Britain,he volunteer from NZ and paid his own fare.

I have to apply for a E-visa in order to visit the country he paid to fight for.
