By the way anybody who bothers to actually read Enoch Powell's 'Rivers of Blood' speech from 1968 will see he was not a racist but a very wise man.  Yes the language is now dated, but he actually undertsated the case.  In many ways it is far worse than he foresaw.

The greatest visionary politician bar none - he was vilified at the time and called a racist for years after but he hit the nail on the head

It is.

Maybe we need a 'making the good news today' thread as there is just far too much bad news lately for my liking, the good news seems to get washed over.

Not exactly good news, especially for the turkeys, but something in keeping with the occasion.

I'd heard of geese droving, but not this.

Before railways and refrigeration, the birds had to make the long journey to market on foot.

Years ago my ex-wife worked for the Norwegian government as a hygene inspector for resturants and anywhere that served food.

Every now and again they would " raid" all the kebab shops in Bergen at the same exact time,Police, tax inspectors and immigration staff involved. Normally they would find evidence of meat smuggled in from Sweden, ileagle workers, cash etc. One time her co-workers found a chest freezer full of folding stocked AK's .

I wish I could disagree with you, but I think the reality is more and more people are waking up the reality.  Look what happened in Germany.  In 2015 crowds applauded the new immigrants arriving.  Now in 2025 all recent polling shows majority think it has gone too far and not been managed.  Sounds familiar.

Yet Angela Merkel maintains that her policy was a success and regrets nothing.

Blinding ignorance seems to be a strong theme amongst leftist politicians. None of whom are effected by their policy failures, they leave their positions to hop upon the gravey train as consultants elsewhere.

I'm not convinced that's confined to the leftist politicians. Most politicians appear to be grifters, there's very few that stand out as trustworthy.

If I'd have posted this from the Guardian or BBC people would have said 'what do you expect - typical propaganda from known enemies of Israel'

This is from the Times (not known to be leftards or Islamists)
