I was nearly eaten by a brown bear once though, which was pretty terrifying, so I suppose that's enough apex predator anecdotes for me.

Likewise, you can't just leave that hanging there!

It's funny, we had a discussion on these questions not that long ago, can't remember if it was on this thread or another. Not dissing it mind, it's interesting to read others opinions, and perhaps even anecdotes.

Whoops - missed that thread.

Anecdotes would be good, and a lack of anecdotes probably caused by a lack of big cats?

Well, basically the thread went like this… there’s some as says there are big cats roaming the UK countryside, and there’s some who says there aren’t.

I’m in the second camp.

Wasn't one of those sightings of a "large black cat" actually some dude that got a jolly from dressing up in latex and creeping around the woods on all fours?

Personally I'd rather take my chances with the cat.

Here ya go. It's easy to miss the interesting stuff in this thread amongst all the tedious noise.

Nope 42 he misses absolutely zero.
On topic, quite frankly with the amount of hi tech affordable night vision and thermal imaging equipment available nowadays, and the sheer quantity of foxes shot per annum “80-100k mainly at night or dusk” I’d say it’s garbage for a quiet news day and nothing more.

Would anyone change their minds about big cats if they actually saw one with their own eyes like I did?

There is actually plenty of evidence as well, including DNA.
