It’s mostly bullshit.

The reason why countries like the US, Western European ones like the UK, France, Germany,  and then Australia etc. are good places to live are because of good governance that’s accountable over many generations. Flawed of course, but basically as good as it gets.

In really corrupt, poorly run countries, life is considerably harder.

"As good as it gets", that's grim again.

Facr, but grim.

How is that grim? You’re living in the most affluent, free, least corrupt countries in the world, you’ve won the lottery compared to the huge majority of people born in (as Trump said) ‘shithole countries’

Count your lucky stars!

So true. Life has never been so good for most of us. Not so sure it can last like this long term though.

True, no one knows what the future will bring.

The older I get the less I worry about the breakdown of civilization as population increases, not because I think it won’t happen, but I’ll be closer to the end of my natural life span, so bollocks to it!

Not sure we are the least corrupt any more. I honestly think we have some of the worst governance in my lifetime and I say that as someone who has several times voted for the conservatives but this lot seem to be a different breed who have no honestly, no honour or integrity.

Yep, worst I’ve seen since the end of the John Major administration.

Out on their ear next chance you get if you please.

Quite agree. We really have little to complain about, even less when you compare it to many other countries. I'm not saying that things can't always be improved upon but I can't think of many other countries that I would prefer to live in.
