Yes I a bit confused with how it's spread as surely the construction as you said are concrete cubes. The passageways are bare so very little to burn and spread through the building. Yes I can understand the outside cladding spreading the fire being fuelled by the wind but surely the smoke would remain outside

 

Quite often in blocks of flats, you'll find that internal firedoors will either be wedged open or fail to close properly. Even when they do work the stairwells have the potential to turn the place into a big chimney. Nightmare.

They are asking on the tv did a fridge fire cause it? Surely it had to be far more than that

Sickening seeing that block burning and my thought go out to all involved.
