Making the news today....

Welby is not suggesting IS should listen to him. That would be beyond absurd. He is saying that religions need to call out atrocities carried out in their name, accept that they are motivated by faith and take responsibility for civilising their tribe.

I get what you're saying, but we should take a twinge of hope from the fact that FINALLY people that matter are starting to say sensible things on the issue.

:thumbup1: most realistic post so far the thread. It's really the only way this situation is going to resolve, in the long run. The muslim populations in Europe will choose life, civilisation, and integration. They will, bit by bit, self police the regressive out of their ranks.

There was no need for your last comment Mr Johnson. You made your point quite clearly.

I've a great deal of respect for you.

We might not see eye to eye all the time, but.......

It wasn't written with the meaning that might have been interpreted from it, but apologises if it was read as such.

What I meant was, "whatever", it's not worth getting a hairy shirt on about.

I think I have to book a GP appointment, I'm suffering from pre-election stress disorder!

I can't even bring myself to listen to Sturgeon & Farron on QT debate.

There's a few thousand on the watch list are they not deluded?

Anyone wanting to kill people based on a belief system are deluded.

Over five thousand people from all walks of life came to listen to Corbyn speak in Gateshead tonight. It speaks volumes about the discontent the tories have fostered. There was a sizable representation from the local Jewish community in Bensham, which kind of contradicts the 'anti semetic' image that Labour have been tarnished with.

My point being that lots of people thinking something or someone is great does not make it true.

I really believe the man is dangerous but she's no better it's almost like having no choice at all this time!

I'm with David Attenborough when it comes to religion:

"Any god that created a worm that burrows into the eyes and blinds innocent children...

Is not a being of pure love and infinite mercy"

Yeah I guess I don't "believe"???

Genuine question for those who favour Corbyn.

Do you think that the deficit does not mater? Its just a number? What if our credit rating drops to Junk status and we can no longer borrow?

Or do you genuinely think he can fulfil all his promises and balance the books?

Do you think simply throwing money at every problem will fix them?

Obviously many of the things he wants would be great, but how can they possibly be payed for?
