Just had a casual look through eBay and there seems to be quite a few firewood processors for sale, would this be a sign where people maybe can't get the wood and can't afford the wood to keep them in use or maybe on the flip side there doing so well there getting new machines thus getting rid of the old???

Is anyone on here thinking of buying or selling their processor??

Id say more a case of people upgrading and some that have tried and it is either not for them or they couldnt make a do. Some may struggle to find wood aswell

I think that people are giving up making firewood and importing the ready made stuff from the Baltic states, we looked at it and it is cheaper than making our own and we harvest our own timber, and i think it is affecting our timber sales as firewood producers are buying the ready made, instead of buying our timber and producing there own firewood. There are in hard times ahead for small forestry and firewood production.

Probably a glut of unneeded grant-bought "business plan" machines being sold on, means i should be able to pick one up at a sensible price.

please correct me if i'm wrong, but if you dispose of a grant bought asset within 5 years then defra get their money back off you

Lack of sales, supply and demand. Warm winter, heating oil at 27p and far too many people supplying. The average customer buys on price. Firewood was the big estate thing here now the bottoms fell out.
