Climbing helmet

I'm looking at getting a climbing helmet and would like some advice please see and peoples own helmets they use like the pfanner one but at £165 not sure it the way to go yet as am new to the game and don't want to be the guy with all the clobber what a nobber help please

The petzl vertex is a fantastic helmet IMHO. It fits both sordin and peltor ear defender/visor assemblies & is comparatively well priced.

petzl elios here. But as a glasses and ear plugs wear the choice is far simpler, I just have to pick the lightest helmet on the market(which also looks ok)

I've tried the Kask ones but the ear defender assembly breaks too often.

Vertex vent, very good hat.. And recently bought the new CT climbing helmet. Nice comfy hat.

I like the kesk and as long as you wash the liner and tighten the little screws that hold the defs on regularly it's a really comfortable helmet, the petzls I've had never felt like they fitted me properly.

The CT looks good and 1 of my lads likes his.

Get to a decent arb shop or better the arb show and try a few for fit.

Vertex vent and as steve says no visor or ear defenders on it just safety glasses and earplugs,after getting your visor or eardefenders caught up in branches for the 53rd time it gets to be a pain in the ass.

As for the protos not worth the money as the ear defenders are not even chipper rated

I already wear wax ear plugs to bed as I'm a light sleeper. Don't know if they would be any good for working. Just out of interest which plugs do you use?
