Oak before Ash

I was going to say oak after a bottle of red but after reading these perhaps I'll stick to reading responses about "bearings on an xyz chipper" or "what's the best chainsaw to use whilst wearing an adult nappy?' or "don't sit on the chipper infeed whilst drinking coffee and the machine is turned off... " Jesus it's getting bloody dry on here.

No wonder no fecker is really posting anything

I've always found this saying to be a cretinously inaccurate pile of country bs, like that stupid firewood poem.

I hate that poem, utter bollox, customers on occasion will spout off about elm burning like churchyard mould, when in fact it's the dogs danglies,

A lot of country sayings seem to be at best half truths. Birds eating berries hard Winter, red sky in morning, Rooks building high etc, but the only one that seems to be consistent around here on East Coast is "Beware the Blackthorn Winter"

When the white flowers of the Blackthorn are out in the hedges we always seem to have a spell of cold biting winds after a pleasant warm spell.
