Tiny echo!

Spoke to my dealer today and I've told them where to find the recall notice. Thanks to the power of Arbtalk it seems I'm one step ahead of them. Apparently they hadn't even been told but they're on to it now. They're just waiting to find out the details of replacements, refunds etc but safe to say I don't want a refund. Proper gutted as I've only had it a couple of weeks. No news back from Stihl yet about rebuilding my 261 though.

It is a shame - but onwards and upwards...

Are there any other gripes or opinions on what else could be improved on this saw? I have said about the on off switch being a little Mickey Mouse!

Anything else? Any thoughts I can forward to Echo and they may influence the new model.

The 2511 is promised to have more performance than this one and be lighter in weight. But production will not start until Sept so will be a while before they come into circulation.

I'd love to see a short clip mount like on the T540xp.

It's my favourite thing about that saw, if Echo could sort that it'd be perfect.

Oh, and supply it with a 0.043 b&c, in 8" and 10" lengths.

And the o-ring on the fuel cap comes off occasionally. It's help captive by the bit of string that keeps the cap attached to the saw though.

Everything mentioned here as well as making the side casing fit better so its flush with the saw and doesn't pop out when you tighten the nut

.

A loop to short clip it to the harness, like the Husky t540xp.

Better stop/start switch, like the Husky.

I've had five Echo tools so far and they are all better than their competitors models!

yep the switch does look a bit cheap but it has a nice smooth action. I just wondered if it was a bit susceptible to damage but mine is aok so far. Oil cap came undone once for me but i put it down to the cap getting bumped against a limb.
