Here in Essex it was sunny and bright this morning, so I pollarded mothers Sycamore, had a cooked brekkie for my troubles and was given £10 by the neighbour, because I've apparently saved him from receiving an ear bashing from his wife about the neighbours' tree (mothers said Sycamore) falling on her shed in the wind, which wasn't very windy anyway.

When working in crap weather at what point do you knock it on the head?

level 1 When branches are getting blown into the garden 3 doors down?

level 2 When you cant feel your fingers or face?

level 3 When the blower wont blow wet sloppy saw dust anymore?

level 4 When your undies are soaking wet?

level 5 When your man bits have shriveled up so much they resemble a walnutwhip.

Or DANGER level 6 which is all of the above plus there's no more tea & biscuits left :shot::shot:

Takes a lot for us to give in completely but after getting soaking wet and blown all over a nice 4pm bath is on the list :thumbup1:

You are getting soft, about this tine last year you and I were doing battle with big trees in a 6+

Very wet and windy in Birmingham. Wasn't too bad as we were pruning fruit trees. Didn't really have the option of rolling over and going back to sleep. Quite envious of you lot that did. Quotes tomorrow so it can do what it likes.

When it's not going to be profitable, we had the start of a pair of monster conifer hedges to reduce from around 50ft to about 20ft and things wouldn't have been productive enough in this wind, went and removed deadwood from some chestnuts instead, which was difficult enough, it was defiantly the right decision!
