I watched the Stone Roses and Arthur Brown there back in the day, is it still open?

What was your band called?

My band at the time was the Ponddwellers with local legend 'Mad Clive' happy daze!

Citadel has been through the wars in the last few years but still up and running and taking bookings for 2023, seen loads of good bands there including Fairport a few times.

Love Glens " chickenpickin " shred !  Bless him .

Yeah, I couldn't get it out of my head after hearing it for the first time a few months ago so I decided to give it a go... and I generally haven't been a country kind of a guy playing wise as it always all seemed too difficult and a totally different technique to get my fingers around.

The song itself is quite catchy and rewarding reasonably quickly once you get the words hammered in.. and so far I'm about a 1/3 through the solo { the easy..er bit } at a slower speed, but building🙂

This guy gives an accurate for note by note practice also bearing in mind you can slow down YouTube even more.

And seasons greetings to you and yours, cheers.. 👍

I have what I consider to be a broad taste in music .  From Classical to Ska to rock to folk and some country . I remember hearing " The Wichita Line Man " for the first time when it was released . I thought it was a cracking song and went out and bought it on a 45 single .

Yep, the lucky man had 5 wives or more correctly 4 and one long term, but I know what you mean about Witchita lineman a great Jimmy Webb song, he was quite a prolific song writer in the country scene👍

Ok just had a look at the chords for said song and at first glance it don't look straight forward.

TABS.ULTIMATE-GUITAR.COM

All lyrics and breaks with their accompanying chords and bass notes. Tablature of guitar solo. Full chord legend included.

Terrific song terrifically sung and played, probably in my top 3 favourite songs, Glen Campbell was an incredible performer, for a long time Galveston was my favourite then for some reason Wichita lineman surpassed it🤷‍♂️

Aye, your not wrong there, I'm generally not a country guy but these 2 are a big exception, spent a few hours today getting my head around the chords for Witchita [ after @stubby's input ] which are sublime and way different to my norm and very easily rewarding.

As they say, every day is a school day.

Seasons greetings to you and yours👍
