Indeed. A few swear words on some site because of it. But my logic is do it once and do it right. Buy the best I can afford for the project rather than cheaper copies.

maybe sagged through use and old age ?

 

i take it the little ones are helper springs? id put them back in :001_smile:

They are generally changed when they snap, but maybe they work harden or go soft??? I really don't know.

One was broke.

 

Indeed the springs are copies but expensive copies of which my budget can afford.

There can't be many "Tier one" Climbers that are also gifted mechanics like your self ian:thumbup:
