In a while you will get used to bringing your old bags to the shop.we have had bag charge for some time, and it's second nature to take a bundle of used bags to the shops . when doing big supermarket shop just reload shopping into trolley and coup in the tipper.if you don't use many eggs you will be fine.

with the bag charge and all the other charges, I'm finding the pound charge for the trolley is a bargain, fill your trolley, through the checkout, refill all the shopping back into it, then load ii straight into the back of the van, they make brilliant log transporters when you've unloaded the shoping, and at a pound a time are seriously good value !

If you're clever you don't even need a pound 😉

I Heard that if you but fresh meat, you can request free bags, as meat has to be in a bag for health and safety reasons. Just meat though, if you put a packet of sweets in the bag, they can charge.

Heard of an old chap, who's wife had caused uproar in her local supermarket about being charged for having just meat in a bag

They obviously have no value, we picked up some sainsburys' ones that had been discarded on railway land, sainsburys wouldn't pick them up from our yard.
