Not tree work as such but a while back there was a branch down blocking the road on one side on he way home from work and the traffic was tailing back in both directions as people were having to take turns to go round it.

So when I got there I pulled up, put the hazzards on and went and spoke to the chap behind and said I only got a pruning but we could clear it easy if he was up for it.

He said sorry mate can't help I've got to to get home for me tea.

Er ... never mind

Next bloke was a goodun and so we had a go at it.

Dragging one bit across the road walking backwards, someone queue jumped came down the road behind us and one more step and I'd a bin under their wheels.

Then another did the same and actually drove over the bit of branch we were dragging out of the way. It got to the point I was expecting to be sworn at for causing the hold up.

T'other bloke just laughed an that was done.

Had a woman who was late for the train station and drove through the idiot tape and knocked a cone over, the groundy was telling her to stop, but she still drove around him, branch mist her buy 5 feet. She stopped then and proceeded to scream at us because she was going to miss her train. When someone said something along the lines of "id rather miss a train than die" she took her shoe off and through it at him, then drove over the branch on the floor tarring her rear bumper off. Everyone in hysterics including most the member of public who saw the whole thing.

I have grown to expect everyone to ignore the signs nowadays and be as vigilant as possible because as funny as some of there plonkers are when they start ranting and raving it would be a whole different story if things when wrong.
