i am starting to get lots of firewood which i am splitting and stacking on pallets in my yard. I want to waterproof this wood but am struggling to do more than putting a tarp over it which isn't much use longterm. Does anyone shrink wrap their firewood on pallets, can this be done?? Any other ideas, though i should say i am not able to put a barn/store in due to planning restrictions? Thanks.

Tarp works well. These are my temporary wood piles - well, they were going to be temporary when I stacked them a year ago.. The wood stays beautifully dry under the tarpaulin so I'll just leave it as is until I need it next winter

Thanks for all the advice guys, I have just brought 12 ibc cages, best get splitting!!!:)

If you making lids make sure you cut the angle the right way. Hard to explain but you can get an overhang all sides of the IBC if you get it right :001_smile:

Hello All, first post (thought I'd better get involved after lurking for the last few years).

We do marquee hire in the summer months and some firewood and coppice work through the winter. So handily we have some good storage for logs. we use some of the clear span frame marquees for this, 3m sections at varying widths 2.4m at the eave.

The stripey one is in the garden 'borrowed' for own use and is 2.1m wide, got another bay up since the photo so its now 6m long. The one behind Dave's car is 3.66m (12ft) wide by 9m long will take about 30 1m cube bags (two rows double height Gap down the middle), been in situ for 5 years and 3 years at previous site. Much more durable than poly tunnels, some of the pvc covers are 20 years old now. Anyway they work for us hoe you like em.

Ernesto.
