Before you put the nearest hospital number in make sure it has an accident/emergency room.No point turning up to the nearest hospital that has no A&E.

Mrs Egg is my ICE, worked well ten years ago when I was found unconscious in the middle of nowheresville. The emergency services only just kept me going.

 

Mrs Egg was aware there was a problem before I was.

Only if you don't have a lock on your phone. Most people with smart phones have them set to auto lock so any would be rescuer won't be able to access the contacts.

 

On the iPhone there's a medical app which allows you to add emergency info that can be seen even when the phone is locked.
