Mines entered its second year of service now , I would not say it was as waterproof as when it first arrived which made me think it needed treating but it would appear sypmatex does not .. I'm at a loss as to why it appears less affective and Worn a harkie top when the weather has been really bad but taken the hood off the Ventura which is new and seems to make a good ultimate water proof combo with the ancient harkie smock.

these jackets are taking a lot of abrasion, i doubt any fabric would fare any better

I agree on the pfanner front Steve. My one issue is the mesh lining on their trousers which can be quite abrasive on the shins when on spikes for a few hours. Otherwise can't fault their gear.

never had an issue with this climbing on geckos. What spikes are you wearing?
