Well,

I enjoy tree work and I enjoy NOT actually being in the trees even more.

I'm already in my dream job being on the ground, quoting and managing my team.

Having said that, I'd like to try my hand at writing.

A light hearted book about life in France made up of dozens of individual life stories from the many people I know here.

restaurant critics and travel writers seem to be onto a good thing,

although for pure grunt, nose in the trough technique a hedge fund manager would be good, anyone can buy and sell shares, not everyone makes a profit

I spend about a third of my working time putting in generators, duct work and acoustic enclusures(only the unskilled bits), which is quite interesting. But I ofer think I would like to be a mobile plant mechanic, not that I ever could be.

Im not in trees, but do think it would be my dream job

 

Either that or I did enjoy my time in welding/fabricating. that would be quite cool to do - get coded. Anything practical.

When talking to people in other industries, I realise that on the whole I'm already living the dream, but I do wonder what life would have been like if I'd studied in Mechanical Engineering like I'd originally planned before I stumbled into tree work shortly after leaving school. The odd times I've not been working with trees in their raw state, I've still been dealing with either processed wood or machines related to wood.

 

I don't know exactly what my dream job would be other than doing things I enjoy and getting paid for it (which on the whole I already do)
