I regularly hear that people are ganging after a tough afternoon of ripping apart a 3ft deep pile of brash!! I prefer 20 minutes of chipping a pre organise array if 50 bundles of chip able stuff and then get another job in!! Pace is about the team and the climber us only one eliminate. Sometimes the climber needs to slow down so that the team can finish quicker.

I don't agree.

Do you really want to be starting a job late afternoon to nick a few extra quid?

When my planned work is done for the day I'm off home to get grief off Mrs Egg.

The last thing I want on my way home is nipping into Mrs Miggins place for a once yearly service.

You are too old when the last nail in your coffin goes in :001_smile:

I agree:thumbup1: Willy is 76, he is the first man in every morning and the last man out at night. He has only stopped climbing in the last few years and dropped back on the saw. Does anything and everything you throw at him, still gives the kids a run for their money :) Priceless

No, I mean another scheduled job as part of the same days planned work. I'm being a bit facisous of course but what I mean is the jobs people complain about are often much easier, so much so that another job can be booked in for the same day.

When my planned day is done we go home and if there's a spare hour we prepare saws or whatever for the next day. I never squeeze an extra job in just for £££.

I retrained at 40 to work in nature conservation with a fair bit of chainsaw work and forestry involved. It isn't too late, but you might like to find a role which isn't full on physical every day. If you are like me it will take a bit longer to heal up after small muscle and tendon injuries that will always occur and I think I without any rest days it might catch up on you. When trying and possibly failing is better than never trying you will go for it - and you won't regret it.

Waiting to hear back from Hi-Line, who seemed quite keen a few months ago in an interview, whether they can keep an opening for me for October.

I'm starting to look for anyone willing to take me on from October 1st. Im willing to look at all opportunities, full time, part time, apprenticeship etc.

Anyone looking for a new semi skilled member of staff in the Bristol area?

CS30, 31, 38, 39, First Aid+F, B+E driving licence (pre '97), ppe, climbing kit and saws. Current CV available.

Good to hear as I may well be going there.

Need to look at kit. They provide ppe and climbing kit but not saws.

Recommendations please for suitable saws to get and should I get new for the warranty etc or try and pick up second hand and hope they're all ok.
