You had problems too?

I know someone that had a camera returned that the buyer said was faulty, when it was returned it wasn't the same camera he sent.

I think they are far too greedy with their fees, I just sold a fairly pricey pump and the commission was mad imo.

I sold my 066 last year,a good un,sent 30" bar separately, had message from buyer, bar arrived but no saw, letter from Royal Mail saying saw had been destroyed as contained fuel!!!! Buyer claimed back money through e-bay (fair enough) which I refunded straight away then he completely ignored every message I sent asking for bar back! I closed my account

It was good 10 years ago now it's not. There is still lots of good honest people on there but the muppets spoil it for the rest. We did have nice little business running but the conditions and fees coupled with courier fees doubling over night killed it so we knocked it on the head. That's why she concentrates on kindling now.

Most high value saws we sell on Ebay are on a classified advert. Seller deals with buyer directly, no Paypal, we can speak to customer and ensure he knows what he is doing with saw and will be safe. Fixed price to list for 28 days. We then take a card payment subject to normal security check. Any problems seller rings us, simples

That sounds sensible I suppose, not sure what would happen if buyer kept item but said he returned it!

That is what happens.

Make sure you login to your pp account and sort it asap.

You only have a certain time to do this before they keep the funds permanently.

My wife is a habitual ebay buyer, and rates the Paypal protection very highly, and has not-infrequently invoked it, ALWAYS as a result of either; quite deliberate seller mis-description, cunningly posed photo angles (to obscure wear or damage), or shoddy packaging (like simply stuffed in a single plastic bag, resulting in broken goods on reciept.

All seller faults, mostly deliberate.

We now open and all-round photo all deliveries on reciept.
