Depends if u want the job, I put a price on a job that is how much I want to do it, long drag or dog muck all over etc. I don't get them all but if I do then I'm happy. I got one last week that I put a good price on because I could see it as problems and I got the job so I know I'm covered. Too many people set their stall out cheap to get work and the customer always expects those prices. No point in working for nowt.

Spot on hodge

Agreed hodge, no point working too cheap, but for a tree like that at 1200 to the customer I can't see anyone getting it as realistically it should be about half that

£950.00 + vat

I find it ironic that forum members think this an unrealistic price, yet work for peanuts themselves?

From jesses posts he seems to run a high end well equipped small established company with new equipment. Perhaps there's a lesson in there

Do you have to pay to tip? Loading trailer is a pain so long day for 2 bods 3 would be better and I' bump the price up to nearer 480/540 mark.

Is £950 better than £350 then?

Yes of course but I'm not saying I would charge 950

If you put more money on a job cos it's horrible, and you win it, do you pay your staff more for the day, or keep it yourself?

Thanks guys for all your inputs. I'll be talking to the customer to check out the possibility of access via the neighbours garden. If not add extra for the waste removal.
