We used to use a granular pre emergent herbicide ( can't remeber the name) we used to use it on ornamental plantings and also in our nursery stock as we planted it up. It was really successful.

Hey guys anyone know what this is? I'm thinking some sort of meally type bug? It's on a Carpinus in town centre must be at least 100-150 of them. Like a small spider web the white stuff in the picture.

Remember to change out the cam on it when you use it with a wirecore flipline (this will do 11-13mm steelcores). There is one specific for the wirecore. Here is a link to the cam. :-) -

I burn whatever I manage to get on takedowns. As all have said above as long as its about 20% or lower in moisture you'll be fine. I recently removed a large Eucalyptus. I've got it split and will hopefully be burning it next winter. Anyone had any success / experience burning eucalyptus?

Hi Khriss, Not road towable but can be towed by an ATV or similar (I think towing it with the landy would be overkill ). I'll just put it onto a trailer as I'll be chipping into a trailer. They seem to have the balance point quite well over the wheels as its not too difficult to shift about. I've never used a CS100 but looking through the vids online it seems very comparable. I've got a couple of jobs on over the weekend so I'll grab a couple of vids and get them posted up. My first chipper but it will save having to keep hiring in one. Anything oversize i'll be burning anyway so 4" suits the type of work i do. Might try to get a smaller trailer for the jobs where the chip is being left onsite, something like the greenmech trailer.

Thanks Jonny69, I have had a look at where the drum meets the anvil but it looks like a big gap. It appears like there are approx 4 bolts on the anvil but it doesn't look like they are on slotted holes. I'll take some pics tonight. I'm quite mechanically minded but just don't know what i'm looking for being my first chipper. Baz

I have just bought and built up one of the these and started using yesterday on a trailer of brash I had approx 2-4" diameter and it ate through it quickly about 10 mins for the full trailer and fitted into one of those tonne bags so am very impressed on how it handled the branches pulling them out of my hands. The assembly instructions were non existent and I had to follow the photos from the website to build it. The instruction manual is rubbish and as much use as a chocolate fire guard. They have included the Briggs manual. A couple of quick questions for these type of machines. How do you go about and adjusting the anvil and what are the correct settings? How often do you lube the bearings on the drums and by how much? and how do you tension the belts as there is no obvious bolts to tighten / slacken the bolts? In general it's seems to be quite well built for a Chinese copy. Cheers Baz
