Wire that goes into the side of the clutch in the stump grinder, unfortunately it's a sealed unit

New clutch is £600.00

 

Going to get in on the bench this afternoon and see if it can be bodged

Not sure yet, going to have a look at it properly when it's off the machine, the only problem I can see is that it won't be insulated if it touches the machine, blob of silicone might sort that out though

I'd make the hole bigger to get at the wire and reinforce the connection then put something back over the top, I hate "sealed for life" stuff. In the words of Douglas Adams The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at and repair.

A bit of shrink tube will sort that

Just had it on the bench

Drilled the hole in the casing out a bit wider, screwed a small screw into where the cable came out with a rubber washer under it wrapped end of cable round screw, covered it in silicone

 

Seems to work

Where do they have trailer MOTs? Out of curiosity, none in France.

Germany, Sweden did have road tax for trailers don't know if they do now.

Another starter for the tw chipper, burned out through try to start it while choked up with chip.

 

 

 

Tha Nissan Navara tippers engine was sounding a bit rough so changed it before it went bang.
