Leeds environ health are really good on this - from personal experience they will get involved as long as youve already asked them to remove it - and you say they denied it... so off you go!

Ive had a couch in my field entrance before and it had 5 business cards for a design company from North leeds (allwoodley) the couch went back whence it came...

The Local Authority will be able to help you out. Fly-tipping is dealt through the Environmental Officers.

Our council will not get involved with fly tipping if its on private land. Its your problem according to them.

So shove it back on council land. Who is to know you put it there unless you are seen . A farmer I worked for used to do it. Soon got cleared up by council

I see your point but in lincoln anyway the guys that clear it up work for the council full time anyway so they are being paid anyway

Just ask them to shift it first. Maybe they don't think they've done anything wrong. Some people think dumping green waste is ok as they consider it bio degradable. Talk to them and explain you don't want it on your land. If they tell you to get stuffed then move on to the counter measures

Never tried it but how about something like this Acorn 5210A Wildlife Trail Camera, Standard Infrared: Amazon.co.uk: Garden & Outdoors

Would be pretty hard for them to deny it if you have photographic evidence.

Much the best idea is to buy a trail camera like this one or a Bushnell.

This one is £127 but much cheaper than legal fees as the garden waste conflict escalates!

They work at night and have the time and date on the clips. You can have either still shots or short,(say 10 second) video shots. Great definition in colour by day and quite good range at night in black and white.

The great thing is that they are so good for wildlife in your woods. You can check for all sorts of animals and birds and also woodsnatchers and tool shed raiders.

My latest video is the best so far catching an otter with two young on our lake which I created at the Millenium.
