Ranger MPG. What do you get?

I think you might have made a mistake there, 27 if your lucky more like.

These trucks whatever make are not going to give much over 30mpg in normal driving, mostly less, its the nature of the vehicles, having said that, my ranger, on an 07 plate with a chip body on it gives mid to high 20's mpg on a motorway run taking it easy, working it & towing is a lot worse, as it will with any motor, especially with a twin wheel trailer & load up.

I reckon you are about right on this for the average driver but that said we had a guy on for us that could get an old style l200 into the 30`s , no one else could so a light foot can pay off.

My 3.2 ranger, with MT tyres, shows 26.7mpg at the minute (on the dash) been a mix of short runs, less than 10miles, and a bit of towing. On the rare occasion I go further away and get a decent run 30-32mpg.

A couple of times I`ve worked out the fuel its not been far off the dash. The MT tyres have made the most difference on longer runs.

Navara Navara navrara! Towing a twin axle trailer full of laurel logs on dual carriage and single A roads = 37.0.

37 out of a navara? Have you been to specsavers? ??? In 4 years I have never had more than 30!

My 10 plate disco four said 36 mpg on the dash and I was chuffed until I worked out the true tank mileage was 23. The best you could get from it on a run with light foot was 29. Vehicle have more power now but the mpg has not really improved from 20 years ago.

spoke to a garage owner today who had a 64 plate Fored Ranger Wild Trak 3.2 with a canopy fitted over the back tub. It was sporting 265/75/18 BFG A/T hoops and he maintains the best he's had on a decent run is 27mpg but around town it's normally 15-16mpg ! Lovely looking motor though.

You don't buy a pickup for good mpg though do you? If you want that buy a small van/car/bike:)

No, but if one has significantly better consumption than another it's worth knowing isn't it? Or if there are some ways of using less fuel.

No point throwing money away
