Seriously mate, I feel your pain.

Is the ointment chloramphenicol?

I had to drive round with shades on for days when I was unfortunate enough to be on that.

Funny things, eyes.

You only get one chance.

Hope it's quickly sorted.

On Wednesday I took down a crappy little plum. Got about of chip I my eye, got it out with the help of s mirror and grubby finger, no worries. Thursday had my left eye weeping yellowish puss constantly, to the point where it was blurring vision in my left eye.

This morning my eyelid was crusted shut. Was okay through the day and have used optrex which felt better, but my eyelid is a bit puffy and it's still bloody annoying.

Good job it's my bad eye I guess.

Had the same symptoms a couple of years ago. Woke up with stinging pain so bad I couldn't open my eye. Eyewash didn't make a difference and I couldn't see what was in there.

Doc referred me to the hospital and they identified it as a corneal ulcer. The object was gone but the damage was done. Antibiotic drops for about two weeks and eyewash twice a day.

Sorted. Bugger of a thing though.

Got a tiny seed punctured the top layer of the eyeball which then closed over the top of it. Went to the opticians after the quack and they couldn't find anything despite their best attempts so sent me on to an ophthalmologist. He found the seed and dug it out. Doctor was next to useless due to the lack of specialist gear. My suggestion is go to a proper specialist. Also made me wear my safety glasses nearly always and not rely on my visor. Second suggestion is to patch the eye up and let it rest.

this happened to me last year, went to bed fine, woke up next morning in agony. went to work till dinner then went to a&e. Found out that it was a fine eye lash that had curled under my eyelid.Every time i blinked it scratched my eye.
